THRIVE was developed to provide a proactive solution to improving safety and independence levels for improved quality of life and aging in place. We are committed to implementing a holistic and collaborative approach with our clients to find smart solutions to allow clients to be able to reach their goals. We strive to offer cost-effective and personalized solutions for you or a loved one.
1:1 sessions can include (but are not limited to) the following areas of focus:
Communication: Accessing a landline phone, cell phone, tablet, computer, or a smart speaker to make phone calls, video calls, send text messages, emails, etc, for communication with family, friends, and/or medical providers. Using communication devices to contact emergency services.
Health Literacy: Navigating a smart phone, tablet, laptop, or computer to complete web searches including to look up medical diagnoses, medical information, or manage telehealth appointments.
Social Participation: Use of smart devices to access social media platforms, photo sharing, etc.
Life Management: Using applications to manage appointments, set reminders, manage transportation, delivery services, etc.
Home Automation: Use of a smart hub to allow for voice operation to control lights, TV, shades, smart kitchen appliances, thermostats, doorbells, etc.
Cognition: Use of a smart speaker as a cognitive aid, including to provide reminders for taking medications, appointments, to gain orientation information, etc.
These services are ideal for individuals (or family members seeking to support their loved ones) to simplify daily tasks and routines, manage health information and appointments, reduce fall risk, conserve energy, manage fatigue, reduce social isolation, and increase safety.
Accessible & Smart Home Design Services
We offer unique services to achieve a collaborative model in accessible home design and renovations. The client(s), occupational therapist, builder, contractor, and/or architect work together to achieve solutions to maximize safety and independence in navigating the home environment to promote independent living and aging in place. In addition to home modification and design recommendations, we seek to integrate smart home technology into home projects as appropriate to blend design, function, and safety.
Smart Home Design Services can include (but are not limited to):
·Security and monitoring: smart cameras, locks, doorbells, sensors for environmental hazards
Kitchen: remote or voice operation to turn on/off compatible appliances
Cleaning: smart vacuums, washing machines, dryers, etc.
Medication Management: smart medication dispensers
Accessible and smart home design services are effective for people with limited mobility, fatigue, mild cognitive impairment, and/or for people looking to automate routines for purposes of convenience, energy efficiency, independence, safety, and quality of life.
